All Bliss, Every Tree【TAPE】- Matthewdavid, Aaron Shaw, Carlos Niño
Released in October 2025 via the renowned LA-based independent label Leaving Records, this work—a single, approximately 13-and-a-half-minute-long piece—is an exercise in deep listening and sonic collage. It is the collaborative effort of three artists: label head Matthewdavid (handling production, mixing, and mastering); saxophonist and flautist Aaron Shaw, known for his work with the spiritual jazz group Black Nile; and Carlos Niño—a key figure in LA’s Chicano community and its New Age/jazz scene—who contributes percussion. Rather than a conventional studio recording, the piece is a seamless collage reconstructed by Matthewdavid, drawing from live recordings of a community concert held at Los Angeles State Historic Park in April 2025, alongside archival studio sessions. The result is a spiritual, meditative ambient-jazz work that beautifully blends the vibrant, organic resonance of live instrumentation with electronic sound processing. Each piece features a meticulously crafted marble-dye design—it’s incredibly cool! (Please note that color selection is not available.)
Beyond its musical ambition, this release serves a significant humanitarian purpose: 100% of the proceeds from both digital sales and a limited run of 50 custom cassette tapes are being directed—via the mutual-aid organization "Art Saves Collective"—to provide direct support to families affected by the crisis in the Gaza Strip.
