元 Vampire Weekend のメンバーであり、Frank Ocean、Clairo、HAIM など数多くのアーティストを手掛ける名プロデューサー Rostam が、2026年5月に5年ぶり3作目となるソロ･アルバムをリリース！アルバムのジャケットには、逆さまに掲げられた米国旗が描かれており、タイトル通り単一の国籍や文化に縛られないストーリーを描いたという本作。フォークやカントリーのような伝統的なアメリカーナの要素と、中東の弦楽器「サズ」や微分音を用いた、ペルシャ的な美しいメロディをパッチワークのように織り交ぜた全く新しいサウンドを提示しており、イラン系アメリカ人かつクィアとしての自身のアイデンティティとルーツを深く掘り下げた、非常にパーソナルで美しい作品に仕上がっております。Clairo、Tobias Jesso Jr.、Amir Yaghmai といったインディ･シーンの重要人物たちがゲスト参加！

Rostam—a former member of Vampire Weekend and a renowned producer who has worked with artists such as Frank Ocean, Clairo, and HAIM—is set to release his third solo album in May 2026, marking his first new full-length release in five years. The album cover features an upside-down American flag, reflecting a narrative that—true to the title—transcends the confines of any single nationality or culture. The record presents a groundbreaking sound that weaves together a patchwork of traditional Americana elements (such as folk and country) with beautiful Persian-style melodies utilizing microtones and the Middle Eastern *saz* string instrument. It is a deeply personal and beautiful work in which Rostam delves into his roots and his identity as an Iranian-American and a queer artist. Key figures from the indie scene, including Clairo, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Amir Yaghmai, make guest appearances.
