EVERYDAY 【TAPE】- Yusuke Saint Laurent

ONENESSらが参加したデビューEP「SUS 4」をリリース直前に東京から滋賀県彦根市へと移住したYusuke Saint Laurentが、Kenichiro Nishihara主宰のレーベルJazcraftsからビートテープ「everyday」をカセットリリース。「everyday」と題された今作は、移住後の環境から得られたインスピレーションを元に日々制作されていたビートの中から厳選された全17曲を収録したInstrumentalアルバムとなっている。ビートテープ=ヒップホップというフォーマットにとらわれず、アンビエント、ジャズ、エレクトロニック　などあらゆる音楽をクロスオーバーし展開するサウンドスケープからは、街とレイクサイドを行き来しているYusuke Saint Laurentの日常が感じられる。オリジナルビートに加えて、MADVILLAIN “Accordion”オマージュのリード曲「minamo」やA Tribe Called Quest “Bonita Applebum” でサンプリングされたRAMPの"Daylight”のカバーなども収録されており、優しく緩くもドープな内容に仕上がっている。

Yusuke Saint Laurent, who relocated from Tokyo to Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture just before releasing his debut EP “SUS 4” featuring ONENESS, has released the beat tape “everyday” on cassette via Kenichiro Nishihara's label Jazcrafts. Titled “everyday,” this instrumental album features 17 meticulously selected beats crafted daily from inspiration drawn by his new surroundings. Eschewing the beat tape = hip-hop format, the soundscapes crossover and evolve across ambient, jazz, electronic, and more genres, capturing the essence of Yusuke Saint Laurent's daily life traversing the city and lakeside. Alongside original beats, the album includes the lead track “minamo,” an homage to MADVILLAIN's “Accordion,” and a cover of RAMP's “Daylight,” sampled in A Tribe Called Quest's “Bonita Applebum.” The result is a gentle, laid-back yet undeniably dope collection.
