1966年10月27日に初めて放送された、ハロウィーンをテーマにした同名の Peanuts テレビ特別番組のサウンドトラックが嬉しいテープ化です！グラミー賞を受賞したアメリカの作曲家/ジャズ･ピアニストであるVince Guaraldi (ピアノ)を中心に、彼の長年の友人でありトリオのサイドマンでもある Monty Budwig (ベース)と、Colin Bailey (ドラム)に、Emmanuel Klein (トランペット）、John Gray (ギター)、Ronald Lang (木管楽器) の6人が、1966年10月4日にハリウッドにある Desilu 社の Gower Street Studio でレコーディング･セッションを行った時のもので、Bing Crosby の音楽監督として30年間活躍したことで知られ、Guaraldi の親友でもある作曲家/編曲家/指揮者の John Scott Trotter が、スコアリングの全工程を監修した名サウンドトラック。大人気曲“Linus and Lucy”(A1)や、物憂げで叙情的な “かぼちゃ大王のワルツ”(A4)など、ポップ･カルチャーを代表する楽曲たちを収録しております！

The soundtrack to the Halloween-themed Peanuts television special, first aired on October 27, 1966, is now available on tape! The recording session took place on October 4, 1966, at Desilu's Gower Street Studio in Hollywood. The Grammy Award-winning American composer and jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi (piano) was led by his longtime friends and trio sidemen Monty Budwig (bass), Colin Bailey (drums), Emmanuel Klein (trumpet), John Gray (guitar), and Ronald Lang (woodwinds). The entire scoring process for this renowned soundtrack was overseen by composer, arranger, and conductor John Scott Trotter, a close friend of Guaraldi's who served as Bing Crosby's musical director for 30 years. This album features songs that represent pop culture, such as the hugely popular "Linus and Lucy" (A1) and the melancholy and lyrical "Pumpkin King's Waltz" (A4)!
