世界各国に眠る秘蔵音源を発掘してきたロンドン発の Death Is Not The End と、民俗学者/研究者として様々な希少録音のアーカイヴ化を行うサウンド･アーティスト Derek Piotr による3度目のタッグ！今回は北米フォーク･ミュージックの膨大なアーカイブの中から悲しい事件をモチーフにうたわれた、カルト･バラード"Lamkin"にフォーカスしたもの。ウェストバージニア大学から大英図書館を徹底調査し、全17曲からなるコレクション音源をコンパイル。アメリカ各地で語り継がれてきたこの歌の伝説を今に伝える一連のバージョンの基盤となった、当時93歳の Lydia Gyderson が1937年にダビングした貴重な音源を筆頭に、音源の殆どが、当時録音に立ち会った人物以外聞いた事がないという希少なものばかりが録音されております。

London-based Death Is Not The End, which has unearthed treasured recordings from around the world, and sound artist Derek Piotr, a folklorist and researcher who archives various rare recordings, have teamed up for the third time! This time, they focus on the cult ballad "Lamkin," a tragic story sung from the vast archives of North American folk music. Compiling a collection of 17 tracks, they conducted extensive research at West Virginia University and the British Library. The recordings include a rare recording of a 1937 dub by Lydia Gyderson, then 93 years old, that served as the foundation for a series of versions that continue to preserve the legend of this song, passed down across America. Most of the recordings are rare, never before heard by anyone other than those present at the time.
