NYの伝説的ヒップホップ集団 Juice Crew に所属する Kool G. Rap と D.J. Polo のコンビによる、1992年リリースの3作目にして最後のスタジオ･アルバム。NYのアーティストでありながら、Ice Cube の右腕としてロサンゼルスで活躍していた Sir Jinx をメイン･プロデューサーに迎えて制作されました。映画『ゴッドファーザー』の世界観を目指したとされる本作は、ストリートの暴力、麻薬取引、犯罪ストーリーを冷酷かつ鮮烈に描写。Kool G. This is the third and final studio album—released in 1992—by the duo Kool G. Rap and D.J. Polo, members of the legendary New York hip-hop collective the Juice Crew. Although the artists were based in New York, the album was produced with Sir Jinx—a Los Angeles-based figure known as Ice Cube’s right-hand man—serving as the primary producer. Inspired by the atmosphere of the film *The Godfather*, the album offers a cold, vivid depiction of street violence, drug dealing, and tales of crime. Kool G. Rap’s breathless, rapid-fire rhyming and masterful storytelling had a profound influence on future rap giants such as The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and Nas. It stands as a monumental work of aggressive, raw hardcore gangsta hip-hop, achieving a perfect balance between the cold, intricate rap skills of the East Coast and the funky, heavy gangsta beats characteristic of the West Coast.
