イタリア出身のDJ /アーティストであり、ユース･カルチャーの研究者でもある Gabber Eleganza によって設立された、ドイツはベルリンを拠点とするレイヴやハードコア（ガバ）のサブ･カルチャーに焦点を当てた多角的なインディーズ･レーベル/プラットフォーム Never Sleep が展開するチャリティ･テープ･シリーズ 第7弾！本作は2009年に開催されたスペインの音楽フェスティバル Sónar Festival での、UKダブステップの鬼才 Joker による伝説的なライブ音源を収録した限定ミックステープ。彼の代名詞であるパープル･サウンドと重厚なダブステップで、当時の黄金期を完璧に表現しており、自身のプロデュース曲を中心に、ダブステップのパイオニア Skream によるレアなダブ･プレート、ブリストル産ファンクの雄 Gemmy、そしてUKダブステップ･シーンを牽引してきた Mala などによるクラシックな楽曲を贅沢にミックス。さらに MC に Gaslamp Killer を迎え、あの伝説的なステージの熱気を見事にパッケージングした約50分にわたるプレイをコンパイルしております。なお、この作品の収益はすべて、地元の若者たちのクリエイティブ活動を支援する、ブリストル拠点の慈善団体 The Cause へ全額寄付されるとのこと。ベース･ミュージック･ラバー必見の逸品をこの機会にぜひ！

This is the seventh installment in a charity cassette series from "Never Sleep"—a Berlin-based, multifaceted indie label and platform founded by Italian DJ, artist, and youth culture researcher Gabber Eleganza, which focuses on rave and hardcore (Gabber) subcultures. This limited-edition mixtape features a legendary live set performed by UK dubstep virtuoso Joker at Spain's Sónar Festival in 2009. The mix perfectly captures the genre's golden era through his signature "Purple Sound" and heavy dubstep style; it features a rich selection of tracks, ranging from his own productions to rare dubplates by pioneer Skream, Bristol funk heavyweight Gemmy, and classics from UK dubstep figurehead Mala. With Gaslamp Killer on the mic, the release compiles a roughly 50-minute set that brilliantly encapsulates the electric atmosphere of that legendary performance.
