OLD NEW GAME【TAPE】(+DL) - paap & SOSTONE

千葉県東金市を拠点とするヒップホップ･デュオ、東金B¥PASS のビートメーカーである SOSTONE と、東京を拠点にサウンド･エンジニア/ビートメーカーとして活動する paap によるコラボレーション･アルバム『OLDNEWGAME』。

長年ともに音楽制作を行ってきた2人にとって、全曲共作でのアルバム･リリースは本作が初。2026年7月26日にデジタル･リリースされた本作を ODD TAPE DUPLICATION がサポートし、同年10月23日にカセットテープ･エディションとしてドロップ！

温かみのあるジャジーなサンプリング、ローファイやブーンバップの煙たい質感を残しつつ、どこか涼しげでメロウな空気感を漂わせる緻密なプロダクションによって、現代的なクリアさやエッジの効いたグルーヴを構築。幾度となく対面でビートを通して向き合ってきた、ラフで浮遊感のある SOSTONE のエッセンスと、それをソリッドに引き締めてビルドアップする paap のプロデュース･ワークが合わさることで、唯一無二の心地よいヒップホップ･インストゥルメンタル作品が完成した。

カセットテープ･エディションでは、ミックステープのように楽曲を聴いてほしいという願いから、A面に本編14曲、B面にこれまで2人で制作してきた未発表音源を13曲収録。その未発表音源の中には、SOSTONE の相方である 東金B¥PASS のラッパー DF¥ や、ベーシストとして活動してきた経歴を持つ、音楽家 Keisuke Taniguchi によるソロ･エレクトロニック･プロジェクト TURLCARLY をフィーチャリングに迎えた楽曲もコンパイルされている。

ジャケット･デザインは2人と親交の深いデザイナー Takara Ohashi が担当。
今回のテープ･エディションのために、ジャケットも2デザインで制作。テープの色味もジャケット･デザインに合わせてグリッター･グリーンとクリア･オレンジの2色で展開！

*OLDNEWGAME* is a collaborative album by SOSTONE—a beatmaker for the Togane, Chiba-based hip-hop duo Togane B¥PASS—and Tokyo-based sound engineer/beatmaker paap. Although the two have collaborated on music production for years, this marks their first full-length album created entirely as a joint effort. Originally released digitally on July 26, 2026, the project is now being issued as a cassette tape edition on October 23, 2026, with support from ODD TAPE DUPLICATION.
The album features meticulous production that blends warm, jazzy sampling and the hazy, lo-fi, boom-bap aesthetic with a cool, mellow atmosphere—all while maintaining a modern, crisp clarity and sharp, driving grooves. The result is a unique and deeply satisfying hip-hop instrumental record, born from the synergy between SOSTONE’s raw, ethereal, and atmospheric approach—honed through countless face-to-face beat-making sessions—and paap’s production work, which brings a solid, refined structure to the tracks.
Designed to be experienced like a classic mixtape, the cassette edition features the 14 main tracks on Side A, while Side B contains 13 previously unreleased tracks from the duo’s past collaborations. This collection of unreleased material includes contributions from DF¥ (a rapper from Togane B¥PASS and SOSTONE’s creative partner) as well as TURLCARLY—the solo electronic project of musician Keisuke Taniguchi, who also has a background as a bassist.
The jacket design was created by Takara Ohashi, a designer with close ties to both artists. Two distinct cover designs have been produced specifically for this cassette edition. The tape itself comes in two colors—glitter green and clear orange—to match the jacket design!
