Public Records Performance【TAPE】- Sam Wilkes

LAを拠点に活動するベーシスト/作曲家 Sam Wilkes による最新作『Public Records Performance』が、自主レーベル Wilkes Records の3作目としてドロップ。本作は2022年の夏、NYにある Public Records で行われたライブ･パフォーマンスを収録したライブ･アルバム。Will Graefe（ギター）、Craig Weinrib（ドラムス/ギター）、Aidan Lombard（キーボード/ギター）がバンド･メンバーとして参加。アルバムの最後の楽曲“TODAY”(B4)では鬼才マルチ･プレイヤー Shahzad Ismaily によるムーグ･ローグ も加わっております。Wilkes 自身も「これまでで一番グルーヴィーな作品」と語るように、Wilkes の柔らかく温かみのあるベースを軸に、ダイナミックでありながら軽やかなファンクネスが漂う素晴らしいライブ音源となっております！

LA-based bassist/composer Sam Wilkes' latest album, "Public Records Performance," has been released as the third release from his independent label, Wilkes Records. This is a live album capturing a live performance held at Public Records in New York in the summer of 2022. Will Graefe (guitar), Craig Weinrib (drums/guitar), and Aidan Lombard (keyboards/guitar) participate as band members. The final track on the album, "TODAY" (B4), also features the Moog Rogue played by the talented multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily. Wilkes himself has stated that this is "his grooviest work to date," and it is a wonderful live recording that exudes a dynamic yet light funk, centered around Wilkes' soft and warm bass!
