米ミネアポリスのアフロ/ファンク系リイシュー専科 SECRET STASH から、60年代から活動を続ける同郷のベテラン·シンガー Sonny Knight による2016年リリースのセカンド·スタジオ·アルバムが到着しました。2013年頃から地元の7ピース·バンド The Lakers を従え、彼らのファースト·アルバム『I'm Still Here』で猛烈にディープな音源を披露したのち、ライブ·アルバムを挟み、当時68歳にしてリリースした本作。ディープ·ソウル特有の緊張感や温度感を帯びた漆黒のグルーヴに、ブルージーな感情を爆発させたパワフルなヴォーカルがたまりません。

From Minneapolis-based afro/funk reissue specialists SECRET STASH comes the 2016 release of the second studio album by fellow city veteran singer Sonny Knight, active since the 60s. After showcasing intensely deep sounds with his local seven-piece band The Lakers on their 2013 debut album ‘I'm Still Here’, and following a live album release, this work was released when he was 68 years old. The deep, jet-black groove, imbued with the tension and warmth characteristic of deep soul, combined with his powerful vocals exploding with bluesy emotion, is simply irresistible.
