This is the second studio album by the legendary California-born producer DJ Shadow, originally released on June 4, 2002. It arrived approximately five and a half years after his historic masterpiece *Endtroducing...*—an album that earned a Guinness World Record. True to its title, this record was created based on the concept of "digging" for and reconstructing "buried personal memories"—ranging from obscure, limited-release vinyl records to private letters and audio tapes. While his debut leaned toward abstract hip-hop, this album incorporates samples from a much broader spectrum of genres—including 1960s psychedelic rock, synth-pop, and blues—resulting in a sound with a more pronounced electronic character.
